Honolulu and Waikiki Beach are situated on the island of Oahu. A relatively small island, approximately 22 miles wide and 44 miles long, Oahu consists of approximately 50+ different communities of varying price brackets. Half of which are located in the city of Honolulu, which stretches about 15 miles along the south-eastern shore.
Median prices in Honolulu are about $870,000 for single Family homes and $427,000 for condominiums. However, homes on Oahu range from $275,000 FS to $25 Million, more on occasion. Of course, like all places, you get what you pay for (relatively speaking).
For the most part, prices are lowest the further you get from Honolulu, or in older neighborhoods. The higher priced homes are generally located in close proximity to the beach, or have preferred ocean views, or both. That shack on the beach will cost you $1,000,000 and up.
Condominiums run from $70,000 LH to $5,000,000 on the average, but you can spend up to $35,000,000 if you so desire. Leasehold Condos run from $42,000 to $1,000,000.
